Description: A serial killer appears to be on the loose in London and Sherlock Holmes assists Inspector Gregson of Scotland Yard in the investigation. Description: In 1949, in the Officers Club in Anchorage, Alaska, the pilot Captain Patrick "Pat" Hendry is summoned by General Fogarty to fly to a remote outpost to investigate something that has crushed on Earth. Captain Hendry flies with his crew and meets Dr. Arthur Carrington and his team of scientists and they fly to the location. They discover a flying saucer buried in the ice and they use Thermite bombs expecting to release the spacecraft. However, it explodes and is totally destroyed by the bombs. They also find a frozen life form and bring it to the research station. When the creature thaws, it attacks the dogs and loses one arm. Dr. Carrington researches and discovers that it is a vegetable life that reproduces like plants. Captain Hendry believes that the dangerous creature is an invader and decides to find a way to destroy it with his team. But Dr. Carrington believes that the scientific discovery is more important than lives and protects the creature.

Description: As Mormon settlers head to the promised land at the San Juan river in Utah, they hire horse traders Travis Blue and Sandy as wagon masters. They have to forge a trail across unknown territory and face many hardships along the way. They quickly come across some stranded travelers, a medicine show run by Dr. A. Locksley Hall which includes the attractive Denver. Along the way however, they are also joined by Shiloh Clegg and his murderous clan of robbers and thieves. An encounter with the Navajo leads to an invitation to their camp but after one of the Clegg boys gets a whipping for attacking one of the Navajo women, Uncle Shiloh plans his revenge. It's left to Sandy and Travis to protect the travelers and get them to their destination.

Description: In 1948 Dave Hirsh returns to his home town of Parkman, Indiana. He's left the army and isn't quite sure what he will do for the rest of his life, though he does aspire to be a writer. He's not sure why he's returned home. He doesn't get along with his older brother Frank - who put him in a home after their parents were killed - and his sister-in-law Agnes hates him. He meets up with a professional gambler Bama Dillert and they soon become fast friends. He also has to deal with Ginnie Moorehead, a girl he met in Chicago the night of his departure and she's decided to tag along. He doesn't plan on staying in town for very long until he meets Dawn French a teacher of creative writing at the local college and an ardent admirer of his earlier works. He falls for her but she's not so quick to fall for him. As life in a small town continues to encroach on his style, Dave has a run-in with a Chicago hood who thinks that Ginnie is his girl, leading to tragedy all 'round.

Description: Frankie Machine is no sooner back in his old neighborhood after a 6 month stint in prison and rehab than his old drug dealer, Louie is after him to restart his old drug habit. Description: When itinerant cowboy and drifter Jack Burns reads that his old friend Paul Bondi has been sentenced to two years for aiding and abetting illegal immigrants, he returns to Duke City, New Mexico to Bondi's home.
