He slowly comes to realize that the choices he made in the past have created a cold and empty life, devoid of real meaning or value. Finally, he achieves redemption and reintegration through forgiveness and the love of his family.

I'm not requesting it, but I find it funny that amung all these classics, The Sound of Music is not included. That is probably the greatest musical in history if you are into such movies. Again I'm not requesting it, but maybe you forgot about it.

I am not very keen on all these musicals, but I think I will add that movie somewhere in the future

Yeah I agree with ou about musicalls, The Sound of Music may be the only musical I really enjoy. Far too often they try to tell the story of the film through the songs, and it always takes away from the story, but TSoM is so long the story is mostly told outside the songs and he story would is a pretty good one without or in spite of the songs. Of course I would rather have The Naked City, The Big Sleep, or The Trouble with Harry any day, so keep up the great work, thanks again.

Hmm. Whatever has The Sound Of Music got to do with Ingmar Bergman ?
Surely you can rent such popular mainstream films.
SOM is definitely NOT the greatest musical of all time, that honour lies with Singin' In The Rain, no contest.

Sorry Mate, Gene Kelly totally takes away from that movie especially at the final dance scene. It's almost as if Gene Kelly knew that Donald O'Connor was a better dancer and had better routines in that movie so he had to have his last hurrah for people to remember.
