Description: The movie is about a fictional English privateer in the Elizabethan era, loosely based on the historical figure Sir Francis Drake. Geoffrey Thorpe, played by Errol Flynn, is the captain of the Albatross, one of the “Sea Hawks”, who attack Spanish ships confiscating any treasures for the English Crown. On one such venture Thorpe meets the beautiful Dona Maria, on her way to become part of Queen Elizabeth’s court. Although he is overwhelmed by her beauty, she will have nothing to do with him. Of course, she will soon change her mind as Thorpe’s gallant ways win her over. Meanwhile Queen Elizabeth is forced to dismantle the Sea Hawks, after threats of war by the Spanish King. However, she sends Thorpe on a secret mission to Panama, where things go badly and he becomes a prisoner of the Spaniards …
